I just got off the phone with BVE and they will send my comments to the Market Department so if we want to see any the Golden Girls DVDs uncut we need to keep calling BVE let them know and I also told them that we the fans would like the GG uncut like they were on NBC and I also told them to check with NBC and let us know!! So please call BVE at 1-800-477-2811 and let them know!! I ask you to join me in the fight to have these problems fixed before they release a box set of all seven seasons that is if they do

I don't follow Seasons 1-7 are uncut, with the exception of some season 5 episodes (but they are only missing a couple of seconds). Are you refering to those and the cut part from "Break-In"?

I don't think that calling BV will solve anything. They've had so many complaints about season 5, that if they could've changed anything, they would've by now. They did what they could with 20 years old tapes. The only they could change is the way some of season 7's episodes appear in semi-widescreen view. Other than that..

As for the Break-In scene, if it's a deleted scene, it's a deleted scene. There's no point in including it if it's not helping the plot.

And for the complete box-set, I don't see why they'd do it. The solo DVDs are selling like hot cakes, so doing a box-set wouldn't help their sales.

As has been said, The Golden Girls is, on the whole, unedited on DVD. There are only a handful of episodes in Season 5 which were slightly edited because the master tapes were not in good shape, but even then it is only seconds of footage. Season 7 has footage never seen since the original NBC broadcasts -- not even in the UK, where Living show generally unedited episodes.

With the greatest of respect, you won't get anywhere with BVHE on this one because as far as they are concerned, they have released TGG unedited.

I thought it was fantastic, after all the years of playing back my VHS tapes of the syndicated episodes, finally being able to see the original, uncut episodes. There were so many lines I'd long since forgotten about! And I never realized the beginning sequence of season one showed such a drastically different view of Miami ( a very early 80s looking view!) There were huge cuts taken out of "Valentine's Day", in particular, like when they're coming down the stairs covered by the blanket, and THEN cover themselves with the giant hearts (in syndication, only that last part is shown) and also the part about Sophia being there for The St. Valentine's Day massacre (or, rather, A St. Valentine's Day massacre!) I also noticed a difference in which parts were cut out back when ABC ran the reruns back in the mid 90s, and when Lifetime did. But regardless, it's nice to finally be able to see the complete episodes again!
