I was just browsing through pointless sites (as I do every night) and I came across a story somebody had written which involves Blanche, Rose, Dorothy and Sophia as well as characters from the West Wing and it is surprisingly entertaining. A lot of people can't get the balance write in a GG script but I thought this was a pretty decent effort, despite using two or three actual Golden Girls jokes. Here's some that I liked:

Sam: Sarcasm's a scary thing in a woman of your age, Ms. Zbornak.
Dorothy: Oh, and what age is that?
Sam: Late twenties.
Dorothy: Attaboy

Whoever wrote that definitely had a handle on Dorothy. There was another little gem:

Rose: Some of those politicians will say anything to get elected. I remember when I was a little girl, back in St. Olaf, when Thor Strottlebiggen was running for the state Senate against Mimi....
Bartlet [fascinated]: You had a woman candidate in your hometown? That's something to be proud of.
Rose: Oh, Mimi wasn't a woman; she was a cow!
Bartlet: A cow?
Rose: She was the favorite in the election, although some people didn't agree with her policies on vegetarianism.



This really is just a bit of fun and it may not appeal to anybody but if you can spare ten minutes, have a read. There is another story about The Golden Girls on the homepage which is a crossover with Homicide: Life on the Street. I didn't read it but there may be a few fans of the show on here.

It is really funny! Although I've never watch The West Wing, I think that must be a real good serie. Thanks for sharing, Stephen.

And I love the twist on the theme tune.

Sophia: You've asked me that three times; you think we've been introduced in the last half hour? I don't communicate with the dead. Who do you think I am, Whoopi Goldberg?

Blanche: From the moment we met, we had a wild kind of chemistry. You might not think it to look at him, but John Munch has certain... hidden talents, you might say. But he's also an arrogant, self-centered, unstable fool. That's why I was so quick to leave him for George.
Dorothy: Oh. I thought it was because you're in and out of beds faster than people with Medicare.

But it's kinda too bad that the maple brown sugar molasses rice krispies log is mentionned too many times. It's funny once, but 10 times within the two stories, it's becoming redondant..

And this quote was used in Cheers, with Diane (Munch) and Sam (Blanche):

Blanche: I hate you.
Munch: I loathe you.
Blanche: Are you as turned on as I am?
Munch: More.

But all in all, very funny fan fiction!!
