In the season 5 episode called "Mary had a little lamb" there was a character who was 16 and pregnant named Mary,and most of the episode was about her.The girls acted like they knew her for years,they were even talking about how she stayed with them when her mom died.

WHO IS SHE?...was there an episode with her from a previous season i missed?

Was she on an episode of Empty NEst or Nurses?

Was this supposed to be a spin-off?

I am just really confused because so much was devoted to a character I have never seen adn the girls acted like she was part of the family!

I feel the same way about that episode. When I first saw it I was like "Who the hell is she?" She doesn't feature in any other GG episode and I'm sure she isn't in one of the spin-offs. I think she was just a friend of the girls and the producers wanted her to be already known to them.

I agree with Rob. I think the writers wanted to install the fact that they knew her for a long time, and since it was mainly about teenage pregnancy, they focused a wee bit more on Mary.

It was the same thing with season 2, Empty Ness. Renée swooped into the living room and started to talk, talk, talk, and the girls just added information as the episode went by. But we'd never knew Renée before, so.. I guess we can say it's the same thing.

Ya know I think Mary is the same girl as on Growing Pains, and a quick check on IMDB confirms that it is. She played Julie, and was the housekeeper and dated Mike. IMDB said she was on the golden girls in mary had a little lamb as well. Here is a link to her page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0567204/
