If Bea didn't want to do any more Golden Girls and wanted the show to end and walk away from it, why did she appear in GP?

to prove them that no matter what they did (even with her participation) the continuation was doomed

Do You think Season 8 could have worked if susan harris wrote some of the episodes?
Do you think the show would have gone on for a few more seasons if the raitings were as high as they were in the first 6 years?

Well Bea appeared in Golden Palace because they asked her to do it and she said yes. They really made a good move ending it at season 7 and doing a spin-off instead of doing a season 8. Continuing without the character of Dorothy wouldn't have been a smart move. Instead, they started something new, but it didn't really worked out as planned. I've never seen GP, but I assume that it was a good idea, basing my opinion on what I've read about it.
I personally don't think that even with high ratings they would've carried the show for more than 7 or 8 seasons, to the most. Sure they'd still have a bunch of storyline that could've been made, but after a while, it would have start to drag and die. So as uncool as it was, Bea made a good choice by quitting while they were on top.

Maybe because she was supporting her friends? She was tired of doing a series, but that doesn't mean she didn't care about the other actors, writers, and crew that went on to GP

Im not sure but I thought I read somewhere that Bea was asked to guest star because the ratings were down. I remember reading that she said GP just didnt work out, and Betty saying it was like a table with 3 legs. It wouldnt work without the fourth leg.

I don't think that is it. Bea's episodes were the 7th and 8th of the season and by the time they were filmed, no more than 2 episodes could have aired so I doubt it was ratings related. I know there are November sweeps in the US where shows do stunts to grab viewers so maybe that's what was being done here since Bea's episodes aired in November.
