Yeah, but still, some people think of the Golden Palace as, like an eighth season of TGG. I would LOVE to see GP on DVD after season 7 of TGG is released. Let's see:
SEASON 6: Nov. 2006
SEASON 7: Feb. 2007? (like season 4)
SEASON 1 of GP: May 2007? (like season 5)
That would be my ideal schedule for all future releases.
You forgot to pencil in the inevitable release of
The Golden Girls: The Complete Series with Exclusive Bonus Disc featuring all of the bonus material that we should have included in the original DVD releases, but, didn't because we want to take as much of your money as we possibly can Edition!

I don't think they'd do that.
Are people who didn't buy the original sets really likely to throw out $200+ at the set, even wiht some new content?
I don't think so.

Are you kidding?! Of course they would do that, and I fully expect that they will. It's not a new trend. Look at
Sex and the City. HBO released each season, individually, only to release
Sex and the City: The Complete Series, which included a bonus disc of features not available on the individual season sets, plus special packaging! The same thing is happening with
Friends: The Complete Series. Plus, a show that Buena Vista distributes,
Alias, is getting a complete series release, with special bonus features and packaging. As Buena Vista Home Entertainment is fond of taking as much of their consumers money as they can, I won't be a bit surprised if they do this with
The Golden Girls.

I think they will bring out a Complete Series box set. They've done it with all the shows mentioned above, and with 3rd Rock from the Sun as well as some BBC series such as Fawlty Towers, The Good Life and Yes Minister. I also noticed on Network DVD's website that once they've released the final series of On The Buses, they are bringing out a Complete Series box set.
So, I see absolutely no evidence to suggest that Buena Vista will not bring out a Complete Series box set for The Golden Girls. In Australia, they are releasing a Seasons 1, 2 and 3 box set of Golden Girls because that's all they are planning on releasing there. So, I really do think that BV will released a Complete Series box set for Golden Girls and, indeed, Home Improvement in the US.
I agree with Rob. Loads of shows have a complete season boxset released e.g Friends, Sex And The City, Will & Grace the list goes on and on. I also think seeing as shows such as Ally McBeal get a complete season boxset The Golden Girls will probably get one. As well as that madonnasmanone pointed out that Alias (another show that Buena Vista distributes) is getting a complete season release so why won't The Golden Girls get one? I think the odds are that we might very well see a complete season release despite the cost.

I've never seen that done for a Complete Series box set. I have seen it done for a bundle of sets of a show which has not yet had a complete release. However, every Complete Series box set I have seen has always had a new box etc. I'm quite sure they'll do the same for GG. I don't really think you're looking at the evidence, SimpleRules. There is a lot of evidence which goes against what you're saying.

I don't know if I've missed something but as far as I can see, this thread isn't an "argument". People are merely discussing a possible Complete Series box set release and are supporting their opinions with various pieces of related evidence. I haven't seen any heated exchanges nor have I read any insulting remarks. I wholeheartedly appreciate SimpleRules' opinion and I was merely giving my own opinion backed up by my own evidence.

@GoldenGirlsTrivia: I agree with you, but don't you think that the fans already got out and bought the existing 5 seasons on DVD?
Me included. I have them all!
If a Complete Edition came out, with extras like the
Friends one has with a special booklet then I would definitely consider buying it. I mean, there's nothing stopping me from selling my existing invididual boxsets to go some way towards paying for it. I'm sure a lot of fans would feel the same

I wouldn't buy a Complete Series boxset right away but perhaps eventually. I had Buffy on VHS for years before I converted to DVD and I plan on buying the Complete DVD Collection in a few months because special featres are not going to make me shill out over £150. I'd just be angry if a complete series boxset of The Golden Girls had great bonus features after the majority of individual GG sets have had weak extras. As you can see I haven't really made up my mind about a complete series boxset being a good idea.
I'm with Stephen on this - I wouldn't buy one right away. I'm quite tempted to get that Friends one though Sam but then I would have to give up my now rare original skyline boxsets.

Afraid not, BV stopped releasing the GG dvds on Region 2 at Season 3 so it is highly unlikely that we'll see the remaining seasons released on Region 2....although if they think about a Complete boxset with seasons 1-7 and perhpas Golden Palace s an extra or something, who knows. We live in hope

well I find it rather strange the fact that we're talking about the countries that the boxset is going to be released in.. the boxset that is clearly only a speculation. not even a hint exists that a coplete set will be released..

If they were to release a complete box set they better make sure it was worth it. I've already spent enough money on the DVDs. For me to fork up more money for something I have wouldn't be worth. The one thing they shoud have done is doing what they are doing for Voltron. Rare tins, featueres etc that will be limited, etc.

No, I wouldn't buy a Complete Series boxset if one was ever released. I don't see the point. I will have all 180 episodes by February and no special feature in the world could tempt me to buy them all again. I'm happy with my separate boxes, thanks very much.

I'm not sure what to think. Buena Vista have done a half assed job on The Golden Girls sets so far. I don't feel that any special effort has gone into them, and the boxes/menu design are very amateurish in my opinion. Bonus features have been a joke. Something tells me they won't make the effort to create a full boxset at the end of it. If they did though, I would buy it because sadly I am one of those fans the 'Complete Series *rip off* boxset' targets i.e I'd buy it for the fancy packaging even though I own all the seasons individually.
As for the Australian boxset, that's not a Buena Vista piece of work. The company that sells it, EzyDVD is very good at having custom made boxes and limited edition metal tins to celebrate the releases of certain shows and Movies and it's probably something they have had made to entice people to buy the only 3 Seasons that exist for the Australian market.

I'm the same as Darran. Many a time I've bought a boxset that I've already got because of new packaging or a bonus feature. In the summer the Will & Grace complete collection came out on dvd and I was sooo tempted to buy it as it had two bonus features not on the individual releases but for once I decided against it as I'd spent enough buying them individually!

I wouldn't buy a Complete Series boxset if it ever came out. I would only do it for my favourite show and I just couldn't justify spending £150 on a DVD tha has no real difference from what I already have.

I would trade in the single releases for the extra $$, and there would be a few factors involved in order for me to buy this:
-The Greatest Moments would have to be included
-Bloopers would need to be included
-Season 5 would have to have their original cuts
